Code of Conduct

Our Code of Conduct exists as a reminder that MMORPGs like WoW are social games. Conduct yourself in a manner consistent with how you would act at work or school. Once guilded with SYNERGY, how you behave and communicate reflects not only on you as an individual, but on the guild while you carry the tag. We have worked hard since 2007, both individually and collectively, to earn a reputation as one of the best guilds to play for on Eitrigg. As such, there is little tolerance for transgressions that might threaten that reputation. So here’s a quick list of guidelines for player conduct and communication:

Conduct

  1. Be helpful, courteous, and respectful of other players. Treat guild mates as you would colleagues at school or work. You don’t have to be best friends with everyone, but respect and courtesy for one another is expected. Remember the Golden Rule.
  2. Resolve problems in tells or private messages, not chats or forums. If that doesn’t work, escalate the issue to a SYNERGY officer in private.
  3. Follow loot rules and leader instructions of any dungeon or raid event. Abandoning a group without warning is rude. Ninja-looting is grounds for membership termination.
  4. Don’t beg for runs, loot, or money. It reflects poorly on you and/or the guild.

Communication

  1. Avoid profanity or inappropriate topics (religion, politics, drugs, etc) in any chat channel, vent channel, or site forum. Be careful about your sayings on the trade channel: remember that you are wearing the Synergy tag and you represent this guild.
  2. Please respect the focus of other players who are engaged in an event. Please wait until an event is over before chatting or talking to them in chat or a vent raid channel.
  3. Check http://www.wowwiki.com or http://www.wowhead.com before spamming questions in chat. You will likely find your answer.
  4. Don’t feed the trolls. Engaging trolls in public chat or forums makes you look as bad as the troll.

Grounds for Dismissal
Ninja-looting carries a zero-tolerance policy. Chronic violation of the above rules are grounds for dismissal from the ranks of SYNERGY. Witnessed violations of the above rules will result in a warning, which will be issued to the offender and reported to SYNERGY officers. Offenses repeated after a warning will result in dismissal.
